VFD Brake Unit 220V/380V/660V Dynamic Braking
The universal brake unit (also called braking chopper) is a high-performance dynamic braking solution for VFDs using advanced IGBT power devices and MCU digital control. Working with braking resistors, it dissipates regenerative energy generated during motor deceleration, ensuring sufficient braking torque and protecting the inverter's DC bus. Compatible with all brands of 220V, 380V, and 660V frequency converters. Featuring digital current sharing, LED keyboard control, and comprehensive protection, it is ideal for CNC machines, elevators, cranes, centrifuges, and pumping systems requiring reliable braking performance

- Protection function, strong anti-interference function, and high reliability.
A. Working Principle Description:
The braking unit (also known as a braking chopper or dynamic braking unit) works in conjunction with a braking resistor to dissipate the regenerative energy generated when the VFD decelerates the motor. When the DC bus voltage exceeds a threshold, the IGBT turns on, transferring excess energy to the resistor.
B. Selection Guide: How to select the correct braking device:
1. Matching voltage: 220V, 380V, or 660V to the VFD
2. Calculate braking power based on load inertia and deceleration time
3. Select resistor value and power (see selection table)
4. For high duty cycles, use multiple units in parallel (up to 8 units).
C. Detailed Application Scenarios:
CNC Machine Tools: Emergency stop braking to prevent tool damage
Elevator: Smooth stopping and safe braking
Crane: Heavy load descent control to prevent hook slippage
Centrifuge: Rapid deceleration to improve production efficiency
Fan/Pump: Rapid shutdown to avoid water hammer
